Capture

Terms of Use

Last updated: 21 June 2026

Capture ("the Software") is free to use, but it is not open-source software. By downloading, installing, or using it, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.

1. License

Capture is provided free of charge for personal and commercial use. It is not open source — the source code is not publicly available or licensed, and you may not copy, modify, decompile, reverse-engineer, redistribute, resell, or create derivative works from the Software. The Software is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied.

2. Your responsibilities

3. Third-party AI providers

The optional AI features (script & caption generation) require your own account and API key, or sign-in, with a third-party provider (OpenAI, Anthropic, GitHub Models, or GitHub Copilot). Your use of those services is governed by their terms and pricing. Capture is not responsible for third-party services, their availability, output, or charges.

4. No warranty & limitation of liability

The Software is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory — including, without limitation, warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement.

Capture is made by an individual, not a company, and is offered free of charge. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the author and copyright holder accept no responsibility or liability whatsoever for any claim, loss, or damages of any kind — including, without limitation, direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, loss of data, profits, or goodwill, or business interruption — arising out of or in connection with the Software or its use or inability to use it, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. You use the Software entirely at your own risk.

5. Changes

These terms may be updated from time to time; the latest version posted here applies.
